On February 19 at 10:29, the rescuers of the Braslav District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a fire in a residential house in the agrotown of Opsi in the Braslav District.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs Upon arrival at the scene, the roof of the residential house was already fully engulfed in flames, and some parts of it had collapsed. The house was inhabited by the father of the owner, a pensioner born in 1956, while the owner lived in the city of Braslav and was not harmed.

During the firefighting efforts, the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations discovered the body of the pensioner under the layer of collapsed structures.

As a result, the fire destroyed the roof, ceiling, and property in the house, and the walls were damaged. An investigation is underway regarding this incident, and the cause of the fire was likely careless handling of fire while smoking by the deceased.
