Braslav. Smoking is harmful to your health.

As of today, there have been 6 cases of fatalities in fires in the Braslav district, and in 5 cases, the cause of the tragedy was an unextinguished cigarette. Therefore, as part of the republican campaign "Don't burn your life away", employees of the Braslav District Emergency Situations Department are conducting large-scale activities to prevent smoking in residential premises.

Rescuers are making every effort to reach the audience – employees of the Emergency Situations Department have become guests at the Public Order Protection Point in the Vidzov Village Council, spoke to the workforce of OAO "Vitebskkhlebprom" Braslav production, held events with residents of one of the city’s dormitories, and also visited the city bus station.

– Everyone is aware of the harmfulness of this bad habit, but if a person smokes – our task is to instill a safe smoking culture in them, - with these words, the rescue service workers addressed all participants of the campaign.

The Deputy Head of the Braslav District Emergency Situations Department, Viktor Kuzhel, spoke to the employees of the local bakery, where all present could not only familiarize themselves with the operational situation in the district and region but also learn a lot of new information on safety issues.

Speaking at the Public Order Protection Point, rescuers emphasized the prevention of smoking while intoxicated, as those citizens who are addressed at such meetings are the most vulnerable category to fires. After watching the film "Victims of Bad Habits", everyone could see for themselves what human carelessness can lead to.
For the residents of the dormitory, as well as for the visitors of the bus station, rescuers prepared quizzes and contests, in which every participant of the campaign, in addition to positive emotions, also gained important knowledge on how not to fall into "fiery" captivity.

At the end of each event, all participants of the campaign received visual – illustrative materials from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but most importantly, they were once again convinced that a small cigarette can lead to very big troubles!
