Braslav. Large-scale Prevention
In order to prevent fires and the loss of life due to them in the housing stock, a preventive campaign was held in the Braslav district from February 26 to March 1.
Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations visited the homes of lonely elderly citizens living alone, citizens prone to alcohol abuse, as well as families raising minor children. In addition, as part of the campaign, rescuers organized village meetings in the Opsa and Plyussa rural councils.
On March 1, Braslav rescuers, together with colleagues from the Vitebsk Regional Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, visited the households of categorized citizens. They held discussions with the residents explaining the requirements of fire safety rules, outlined the main causes of fires, and reminded them of the rules for operating stoves, heat-generating devices, electrical appliances, the risks of smoking in the home, and the rules for safely lighting fires. An important reminder for many citizens was that it is necessary to periodically check the operability of autonomous fire alarms.
At trading facilities in the Opsa rural council, "Safety Posts" were organized, where Ministry of Emergency Situations employees taught store visitors the basics of life safety.
In total, as part of the campaign, Ministry of Emergency Situations employees visited 160 households, organized 4 yard and 2 village meetings, and also spoke in 2 labor collectives in organizations of the district.
