Braslav. In the spotlight – water bodies

The ice on water bodies is one of the main sources of danger and one of the causes of winter injuries. Its visible strength can be deceptive, considering that the temperature outside has been above freezing for several days. Nevertheless, ice fishing enthusiasts head to the water bodies to catch their desired fish, forgetting about safety measures. To remind all lovers of "quiet" hunting about the rules for visiting winter water bodies, employees of the Braslav District Emergency Situations Department, together with representatives of the OSVOD, conducted a raid across the waters of Lake Drivyaty.

The location of the raid was chosen deliberately: the large water body is situated within the city limits and attracts the attention of not only the residents of the Braslav region but also visitors from neighboring districts and even regions. Climbing aboard the airboat "Piranha", the rescuers headed to the first gathering of fishermen.

People at the water bodies are already accustomed to seeing uniformed personnel and are always friendly upon seeing the Ministry of Emergency Situations inspector, so finding common ground is usually quite easy.

– You should think about your safety even from the shore, bringing a rescue rope with you to the water body and definitely wearing a life jacket, – the specialists emphasized.

During the raid, the rescuers reminded citizens about safe behavior on the ice, urged them to refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages, and reiterated how to avoid falling through the ice and what to do if someone does fall through.

At the end of the raid activities, the rescuers distributed useful leaflets to winter fishing enthusiasts and answered questions.
