Braslav schoolchildren brought back diplomas of the II and III degrees from the republican stage of subject Olympiads.

For most schoolchildren, spring break is an anticipated time of rest. For supporters of the olympiad movement, these days have become a true test of their intellectual abilities, character strength, and determination: from March 23 to 27, the final stage of the republican olympiad in 18 subjects took place in Belarus. Among its participants, who demonstrated profound knowledge and competed for prestigious awards, were also residents of Braslav.

In total, more than one and a half thousand students from schools, gymnasiums, and lyceums participated in the final of the olympic marathon – the winners of the regional stages from all over the country. The team from Vitebsk region included three representatives from Braslav district: tenth grader Sergey Chervinski from Opsa Secondary School, and 10th and 9th grade students Anna Shulgovskaya and Meda Grigas from Braslav Secondary School No. 2 named after Z. E. Kozhar.

According to the decision of the Ministry of Education, the intellectual competitions were held in various regions of the country. Thus, Sergey headed to Zhlobin, where school masters of labor training demonstrated their skills. Meda went to Vitebsk: it was in the northern capital that the best in foreign language proficiency were determined. Anna had to travel the longest distance, as social studies enthusiasts competed in Lida.

Residents of Braslav did not falter among their competitors and returned home with two high awards. Meda Grigas was awarded a diploma of II degree from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus (English teacher – Elena Rulevich), and Sergey Chervinski received a diploma of III degree (labor training teacher – Leonid Strinovich). Our schoolchildren proved that they are worthy to represent Braslavshchina at the republican level and to conquer new heights.

It is very encouraging that our children are competitive against students from gymnasiums and lyceums, and that the educational institutions of the district provide a worthy level of knowledge."
