With the onset of the spring-summer period, the number of citizens in places of mass recreation increases, as well as those traveling to these locations by motor transport, which leads to an increase in the number of offenses in such areas.
Police officers have organized efforts to prevent and suppress such offenses and crimes. From May to September, public order in places of mass recreation will be ensured taking into account weather conditions on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. In addition, in the city and district, police officers will conduct joint raid activities in areas prohibited for swimming, with the participation of representatives from the OSVOD organization and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
The district police inspector of the Braslav District Department of Internal Affairs, Vitaly Maslovsky, explained where beaches have been organized this year in the city and district, as well as the responsibilities for violating the legislation.
Places where swimming is allowed: -the city beach on Lake "Drivyaty" (the shoreline with the water area from the side of Gagarin Street and Buloychik Street in Braslav)
- the beach on Lake "Berezhe" (the shoreline with the water area from the side of October Street in Braslav)
- the beach on Lake Drivyaty (the shoreline with the water area along Naberezhnaya Street in Braslav (the right side in the direction of the recreation base "Drivyaty"))
- the beach on Lake Vidzovskoye (the shoreline with the water area along the N-2111 highway Vidzy – Drysvyaty – border of the Republic of Lithuania (the right side) towards the village of Podvorynka from the urban settlement of Vidzy, Braslav district)
- the beach on Lake Strusto (the shoreline with the water area at the tourist parking lot of general type "Peretyag" near Mount Mayak)
- the beach on Lake Voyso (the shoreline with the water area from the side of Lesnaya Street in the village of Murazhi)
In other water bodies and rivers located in the city and district, swimming is prohibited by the decision of the district administration.
Swimming in a prohibited area (Article 24.42 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) is punishable by a fine of up to 3 basic units (1 basic unit - Br37). For the consumption of alcoholic, low-alcohol beverages or beer, appearing in a public place in a drunken state that offends human dignity and morality (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), a fine of up to 15 basic units or administrative arrest is provided.
While in places of mass recreation, citizens should be vigilant and observe basic rules of personal and property safety. Carelessness during recreation often leads to emergencies, as well as the commission of offenses and crimes against citizens. In 2022, nearly 70% of crimes registered in the summer in places of mass recreation were thefts of personal property of vacationers.
