Corruption infringes on the rights and interests of citizens, undermines their trust in the authorities, destabilizes the economy, and has a destructive impact on democracy and law and order in the country. Protecting the constitutional order, ensuring peace and harmony in society, implementing the principles of social justice, and creating the necessary conditions for progressive economic development are the top priorities of the Belarusian state.

Corruption is the intentional use by a public official or an equivalent person, or a foreign official, of their official position and the associated opportunities for the unlawful acquisition of property or other benefits in the form of work, services, patronage, or promises of advantages for themselves or for third parties, as well as the bribery of a public official or an equivalent person or a foreign official by providing them with property or other benefits in the form of work, services, patronage, or promises of advantages for them or for third parties, so that this public official or equivalent person or foreign official performs actions or refrains from performing them in the execution of their official (labor) duties, as well as the commission of the specified actions on behalf of or in the interests of a legal entity, including a foreign one.

During the past period of 2025, the district prosecutor's office conducted 4 inspections of the compliance of organizations and institutions in the district with the requirements of anti-corruption legislation and procurement of goods (works, services), during which violations were identified.

Based on the results of the inspections, the district prosecutor's office submitted 2 representations to the Braslaŭ District Executive Committee regarding the elimination of violations of anti-corruption legislation and procurement of goods (works, services), the causes and conditions contributing to them, which included questions about the updating of the Regulation on the procedure for procurement of goods (works, services) at the expense of own funds; on the revision of obligations to comply with restrictions and bringing them in line with the requirements of the Anti-Corruption Law; on conducting procurement of goods (works, services) in strict accordance with current legislation.
