A child's prank with fire could have caused the fire.

On May 21 at 17:22, the dispatcher of the Braslav District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a fire in a residential house in the village of Monastyr, Braslav District.

Upon arrival at the scene, rescuers observed an open flame in the house, from which the residents had evacuated themselves before the arrival of the emergency services. As a result of the fire, the roof, ceiling, and property were destroyed. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The considered version of the cause of the fire is children's play with fire.

Dear parents:

• remind children that matches are not toys. Keep matches away from children!;
• explain to children the serious consequences of playing with fire;
• do not leave children unattended;
• do not walk past children playing with fire;
• do not forget to turn off electrical appliances;
• do not allow children to turn on electrical appliances;
• do not allow children to start fires;
• in case of fire, call 101 or 112!
