The President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, signed Decree No. 1, declaring 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman.

The document was adopted to form a national image of the working woman and to popularize the role of women in preserving and developing society.

The government, with the participation of regional executive committees and the Minsk city executive committee, is tasked with developing and approving a republican action plan for the conduct of the Year of the Belarusian Woman in 2026. The government will also coordinate the activities of state bodies and other organizations to implement this plan.
