By the verdict of the Braslav District Court, a resident of the Braslav District was convicted under part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code.

A young unemployed resident of the village of Vidzy, by means of theft with breaking and entering, entered the home of her elderly acquaintance, from where she stole a wallet containing 70 rubles.

The defendant had previously visited the elderly resident multiple times and helped her with household chores, thereby earning her trust and friendship. However, knowing that the latter had received her pension, she entered the house in the absence of the owner and stole the money.

For the committed act, the defendant not only faced criminal punishment but also returned the entire amount stolen.

The Braslav District Court found the resident of the village of Vidzy guilty of committing the crime provided for in part 2 of Article 205 and imposed a sentence of imprisonment for 1 year.

In accordance with part 1 of Article 78 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, it was ruled not to enforce the imposed sentence if the woman does not commit a new crime within the year and fulfills the imposed obligations, including community service of 80 hours.
