In Belarus, a significant number of people getting lost in the forest is recorded. There is no typical profile of a lost person, as this role can be assumed by anyone: pensioners, adults, teenagers, and even children. Fortunately, in most cases, everything ends well; however, some situations cause considerable concern and may lead to losing all hope for a favorable outcome.

Rescuers remind you: before heading into the forest, study the safety rules! Take a small supply of food, water, a knife, and matches with you. Don’t forget to bring a charged mobile phone and necessary medications. Clothing and footwear for a forest hike should be thick and waterproof. Be sure to wear a bright element in your clothing (scarf, cap, etc.) – this will help you remain visible, and those who are looking for you will not miss bright clothing. Inform your relatives where you plan to enter the forest and the estimated time of return. Talk again with elderly parents and ensure they are aware of the safety rules.
