What penalties are imposed for the illegal circulation of alcoholic products?

The detection and prevention of illegal circulation of alcoholic products is one of the most important areas of activity of internal affairs bodies and is constantly in the spotlight.

About the responsibility provided for illegal circulation of alcoholic products, tells the senior district police inspector of the Braslav District Department of Internal Affairs, Anatoliy Umpirovich:

– Storage, transportation, acquisition, and production of counterfeit alcoholic beverages entail administrative liability.
According to part 2 of article 13.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, the movement across the territory of the Republic of Belarus by an individual who is not an individual entrepreneur of more than five liters of alcoholic beverages not marked in the established manner with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus and/or special stamps entails a fine of 10 to 100 basic units with the confiscation of alcoholic beverages exceeding the quantity allowed for movement, or without confiscation.

According to part 4 of article 13.21 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, the sale (in the absence of signs of illegal entrepreneurial activity) by an individual who is not an individual entrepreneur of alcoholic beverages not marked in the established manner with excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus and/or special stamps, or alcoholic beverages of their own production, entails a fine of five to twenty basic units with the confiscation of the sold alcoholic beverages or without confiscation of such alcoholic beverages.

Strong alcoholic beverages are understood to be those with an ethyl alcohol content of 28 percent or more, produced by individuals through fermentation of raw materials and subsequent distillation.

According to part 1 of article 13.27 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Republic of Belarus, the production by individuals of strong alcoholic beverages (moonshine), semi-finished products for their production (mash), as well as the storage of devices used for their production, entails a fine of up to five basic units with the confiscation of the specified beverages, semi-finished products, and devices.

According to part 3 of article 13.27, the acquisition of strong alcoholic beverages (moonshine), except for those whose sale is permitted by law, as well as the acquisition of semi-finished products for their production (mash), entails a fine of up to 5 basic units with the confiscation of the specified beverages.
