A large-scale preventive campaign in the Braslav region!
Since the beginning of the year, 33 fires have occurred in the territory of Braslav district (which is 3 more than in the same period of 2021), resulting in one fatality. To inform the residents of the district about safety rules for daily activities and to point out existing violations in the operation of heating equipment, employees of the Braslav District Department for Emergency Situations conducted a large preventive campaign this weekend.
Rescuers paid close attention to the condition of stoves and the presence and functionality of autonomous fire alarms. To prevent the occurrence of fires and fatalities, the agency's employees held preventive discussions with citizens, reminded them of the basic rules of fire safety in everyday life, addressed existing violations, and provided recommendations for their resolution.
While inspecting households, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees reminded homeowners to exercise caution when handling fire, to avoid smoking in bed, and strongly recommended not to leave heating devices unattended and, of course, to keep them in good working condition.
In families with children, rescuers paid special attention to the storage of matches and household chemicals, reminding parents that these items should be kept out of reach of children, citing examples of consequences that can occur when adults neglect these rules. While distributing brochures with recommendations to parents, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees also reminded them that children should never be left unattended.
Since the beginning of the year, employees of the Braslav District Emergency Situations Department have drawn up 20 administrative protocols against residents of the district who were found to have violated the rules for operating heating equipment, indicating that some citizens allow themselves to be negligent regarding safety rules not only concerning themselves but also put their neighbors at risk.
