On guard for legality and public order

This year, on June 26, 2021, marks the 99th anniversary of the establishment of the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus.

On June 26, 1922, the third session of the Central Executive Committee of the BSSR adopted the "Regulation on Prosecutorial Supervision," which assigned the functions of overseeing the legality of actions of all government bodies, economic institutions, public associations, and private individuals to the prosecutor's office.
Initially, the prosecutor's office operated within the People's Commissariat of Justice of the BSSR, and since 1936 it was separated from the justice system and came under the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR.
In the Vitebsk region, the prosecutor's office began its activities on July 9, 1922.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union in December 1991, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic became an independent state authority, carrying out its activities based on Article 125 of the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus and the Law "On the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus."
Currently, the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Belarus is a unified system of bodies that, on behalf of the state, supervises compliance with laws throughout the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
A significant contribution to ensuring legality in the Braslav district of the new state - the independent Republic of Belarus - was made by Karnitski P.M., and under the leadership of Nestyorenko O.A., the prosecutor's office of the Braslav district was recognized as the best in the Vitebsk region based on the results of work for 2010.
The employees of the district prosecutor's office responsibly fulfill the tasks set before them. The deputy prosecutor of the district, Garbus Sergey Petrovich, and the senior assistant prosecutor, Holosuy Alena Petrovna, successfully cope with their assigned duties, and their professionalism, objectivity, and principled stance are highly valued by employees of other law enforcement agencies in the district.
An important factor in the successes of the prosecutor's office is the conscientious attitude towards work of the individuals who provide technical support. These include the head of the office, Abaeva Sofia Romualdovna, driver Kaminski Vladimir Antonovich, and courier-cleaner Pipir Lyudmila Frantsevna. It is their efforts that create comfortable working conditions, maintain cleanliness and order, which contributes to the good mood of the team and, accordingly, ensures the quality execution of the assigned tasks.
The small team of prosecutor's office employees in the Braslav district manages to make a tangible contribution to strengthening legality in the district. However, there remains a large number of tasks and problems that need to be addressed in the current year, focusing efforts on priority areas of law enforcement activities and ensuring the implementation of state programs to combat crime and corruption.
