"Do not leave children alone!" 2024

In order to draw attention to the problem of children playing with fire and the deaths of children in fires, to reduce the number of emergencies involving children, and to ensure their overall safety (at home, on the street, during recreation, at water bodies, etc.), from May 15 to June 1, a republican information and propaganda campaign ‘Do not leave children alone!’ will take place, timed to the International Day of Families and the International Day for the Protection of Children.

As part of the campaign, a large-scale program awaits visitors to shopping and entertainment centers, cinemas, children's stores, and other public places where parents spend time with their children. Interactive platforms with contests, quizzes, and games will be organized there, and participants will receive souvenir and educational visual materials from the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Visitors to healthcare institutions (children's clinics, healthy child offices, women's consultations, motherhood schools, maternity hospitals) will also be in the spotlight. The focus will be on expectant and young parents. Employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will also meet and congratulate new fathers and mothers during their discharge from maternity hospitals, where they will discuss the importance of creating safe living conditions for the new family member.

Active leisure enthusiasts will not be overlooked either – for them, propagandists will hold a sports holiday ‘Mom, Dad, We Are Strong in Safety’, in which participants need to demonstrate their knowledge in the field of safety.

Emphasis will also be placed on large families and those in socially vulnerable situations. Here, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will conduct meaningful conversations, games, and quizzes on life safety during home visits, both with children and their parents, and will present gifts from partners, sponsors, and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

Rescuers will also visit parent meetings in primary classes of educational institutions and preschool institutions, where they will conduct explanatory work with demonstrations of key films illustrating negligence in supervising children, such as ‘Do not leave children alone’, ‘The Cost of a Moment’, ‘Water Does Not Forgive Mistakes’, and ‘Not Child's Play’.
