Don't waste your life

To date, there have been 4 cases of fatalities in fires in the Braslaŭ district, and in all these cases, the cause of the tragedy was an unextinguished cigarette. Therefore, during the long November weekend, as part of the republican campaign "Do not burn your life", employees of the Braslaŭ District Department for Emergency Situations are conducting large-scale activities to prevent smoking in residential premises.

Rescuers are making every effort to reach a wide audience – employees of the Emergency Situations Department became guests in one of the city’s dormitories, instructed customers of the "Euroopt" store, and also conducted activities visiting the homes of categorized citizens.

–– One of the most common causes of fatalities in fires remains careless handling of fire while smoking. Everyone is aware of the harmfulness of this bad habit, but if a person smokes – our task is to instill a safe smoking culture in them, –– with these words, the head of the department, Sergey Krivko, addressed the citizens while conducting preventive work in the residential sector.

The head of the district emergency ministry drew attention not only to the condition of heating devices, the presence and functionality of autonomous fire alarms, but primarily emphasized to citizens the importance of preventing smoking in residential premises.

For the residents of the dormitory, as well as for the visitors of the "Euroopt" store, rescuers, together with activists of the Belarusian Youth Public Organization of Rescuers and Firefighters, prepared quizzes and contests, in which every participant of the campaign, in addition to positive emotions, gained important knowledge on how not to fall into "fiery" captivity.

At the end of each event, all participants of the campaign received visual – illustrative materials from the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but most importantly, they were once again convinced that a small cigarette can lead to very big troubles!
