Prosecutor's Office News In the Vitebsk region, with the onset of the heating season, the number of fatalities in fires has increased. Additionally, due to atypical weather conditions for this period, there have been incidents of accidents in water bodies. The unsafe road surface caused by heavy precipitation poses a threat of road traffic accidents.   

In light of the characteristics of the autumn-winter period and the upcoming holidays, in order to prevent crimes and offenses among minors, the district prosecutor's office has taken additional measures to ensure the rights of minors.

Thus, employees of the relevant authorities and services, at the request of the district prosecutor's office, have conducted inspections of educational institutions in the district to assess compliance with safety requirements. Special attention has been given to disadvantaged families, large families, and other families in the accounting categories raising minor children. Throughout the upcoming winter period, these families will be visited by relevant services at their place of residence, preventive conversations will be held with parents, and immediate measures will be taken upon detection of violations, including the removal of children from families if there is a threat to their life and health. 

To protect the rights and legitimate interests of children and to prevent emergencies, the work of all prevention entities in the district has been intensified; however, it should not be forgotten that the safety of children primarily depends on their parents, who are obliged by law to ensure safe conditions for their life and health.
