On the Results of Handling Citizens' Appeals in the District Prosecutor's Office

One of the priority areas of the district prosecutor's office is working with appeals from citizens and legal entities.

In 2019, the district prosecutor's office received 86 applications from citizens and legal entities. Of these, 40 were resolved by the prosecutor's office staff, 45 were referred to other agencies, of which 4 were under control, 2 were left unconsidered, and 1 was returned.

Appeals for substantive consideration were sent to the Braslaŭ District Police Department – 16 appeals, the Braslaŭ District Executive Committee – 5 appeals, the Braslaŭ Investigative Committee – 5 appeals, the Hlybokaye Interdistrict Labor Inspection – 3 appeals, and the district court – 3 appeals. Appeals were also sent for consideration to the Department of Labor, Employment and Social Protection of the District Executive Committee, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, the Main Health Department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, and others.

In 2019, the district prosecutor's office received 14 appeals from business entities, of which 10 were fully satisfied, and in the past year, the district prosecutor's office resolved 40 appeals from citizens and legal entities.

Of the total number of resolved applications from citizens: 7 on issues of supervision over the implementation of legislation, including 2 on violations of administrative legislation; 3 on labor legislation; 1 on the procedure for the activities of organizations, 1 on the organization of work with citizens' appeals. 16 were on issues of supervision during pre-trial proceedings, of which 12 were on the actions of inquiry bodies, 4 were complaints about the actions of investigators, 4 were on issues of supervision over the compliance of court decisions in civil cases with the law, including 3 applications for prosecutors to file claims (applications) in the interests of individuals and legal entities; 1 on issues of compliance with the law in the execution of criminal penalties, 1 on issues of compliance with legislation in the execution of enforcement documents; 9 on other issues. Also, during this period, 2 appeals were received regarding the provision of information or explanations of legislative requirements.

Of all resolved applications from citizens, 1 appeal from a citizen regarding compliance with labor legislation was fully satisfied and recognized as justified. Additionally, 3 appeals regarding the legality of the actions of the Braslaŭ District Police Department were partially satisfied. 
The activities of the district prosecutor's office in considering appeals from citizens and legal entities will continue in the current year.
