Why the Braslav District
Braslav is a clean city, with a clean ecology, clean air, clean lakes, fertile land, and mushroom forests. The Braslav region enchants with its beauty, natural landscapes, cultural and historical heritage, and a special charm of cleanliness, freshness, and comfort. Its untouched nature, healing climate, picturesque surroundings, and numerous historical, archaeological, and architectural landmarks attract both locals and tourists.
Braslav promotes a healthy lifestyle, with ecologically clean, natural, and fresh food. In the Braslav region, emerging farms offer high-quality products. There are 20 registered peasant (farm) enterprises engaged in the cultivation of ecologically clean products – vegetables and fruits (KFH "Vitalich-Lug", "Mezhozernoe"), livestock breeding for meat production (KFH "Ukliano"), mixed farming (KFH "Yedyshki"), and fish farming (KFH "Zapruzhany" breeds carp, silver carp, and white amur). These farms combine their activities with agritourism. Individuals are engaged in beekeeping, bread baking, and handicrafts (female artisans create handmade items (straw weaving, weaving, clay products), while male artisans focus on woodworking, blacksmithing, and more). Farmers offer fresh cheese — ranging from traditional blade cheese to gourmet camembert, pickled vegetables with spices, ketchup, juice, honey, homemade bread, smoked fish, game meat delicacies, fresh vegetables, fruits, mushrooms, and berries.
Braslav is a festival city. The district hosts a large number of various spectacular events: from street parades to spectacular festivals, from theatrical performances to widespread folk celebrations, including the sports and music festival "Viva Braslav", international rally sprint competitions, sailing regattas, international cycling marathons, triathlons, the international holiday of traditional culture "Braslav's Lightning", and the medieval culture festival "Sword of Bracislav", as well as ceremonial events in honor of Our Lady Queen of the Lakes and many others. To maintain interest in the cultural and historical heritage of the region, new pedestrian, water, and excursion routes are being created. Weekend tours such as "Back to the USSR", "Treasure Island", "Legends of Braslav", "Slobodka-Lace of Braslav Region", "Old Druya", and others are in high demand among tourists.
Braslav is a favorable platform for self-realization, entrepreneurial initiative, and the establishment of small and medium-sized enterprises. A total of 100 land plots have been allocated in accordance with the decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated June 13, 2017, No. 92 rp "On the Coordination of Land Plot Allocation" to facilitate the opening of businesses in the tourism sector, including agroecotourism.
The geographical location of the Braslav region (at the intersection of borders with Latvia and Lithuania, 40 km to Daugavpils, 200 km to Riga, and 200 km to Vilnius) provides ample opportunities for the development of international cooperation and attracting foreign investors.
