Special emphasis should be placed on the safety of teenagers near water bodies. They sometimes behave too carelessly and overconfidently, running and playing by the water without recognizing any danger. Parents must understand that regardless of the child's age, whether they are preschoolers or students, they should not be near water without adult supervision. It is the parents' responsibility to talk to their children about everything that might happen, to warn them about the dangers, and to explain the consequences:

On June 7, 2022, a tragedy occurred in the Kruptsy district. It was established that a 14-year-old girl was walking with her sister and friend near the water body of the agro-town of Khotyukhovo in the Kruptsy district. At some point, she slipped and fell into the water. A man who was nearby helped to pull her out of the water, but the teenager was already without signs of life. Arriving medics, despite the resuscitation efforts, could not save her - the girl died on the way to the hospital.

On June 19, 2021, an emergency occurred in the waters of the Dnieper River in the village of Stradubka, Loyevsky district. The events unfolded as follows: 10th-grade students, being near the river, noticed a drowning 13-year-old girl, a 6th-grade student. The schoolgirls helped the drowning girl out of the water, but they themselves could not get to the shore. At that time, a Ministry of Emergency Situations employee was passing along the river during his off-duty time. Hearing cries for help, he sequentially pulled the drowning children out of the water. After examination by the ambulance crew, the girls did not require hospitalization.

On June 25, 2021, rescuers received a report that a person was drowning in a water body in the city of Dzerzhinsk near Tikhaya Street. Before the Ministry of Emergency Situations units arrived, a witness rescued a 12-year-old child from the water. It turned out that the boy was walking on the bottom of the water body and at a distance of 20 meters from the shore began to drown due to a sharp drop in the bottom level. Hearing the child's cries, the man jumped into the water and brought him to the shore. The boy was taken to the hospital by the ambulance crew.

Important! Rules for Parents:
  • do not let your child go to the beach alone;
  • do not lose sight of them when they are swimming (do not rely on the fact that the child is already big and swims well);
  • choose a well-equipped beach, as lifeguards are on duty there.
