The Ministry of Emergency Situations informs
10.11.2022
Everyone has long known about the useful properties of the fire alarm system, but do you know how to use it correctly? Employees of the Braslav Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations will now explain this.

The autonomous fire alarm system (AFAS) is designed for the automatic detection of fire (smoke) and notification about it.

• The AFAS should be installed in residential premises on a horizontal surface of the ceiling at a distance of at least 1 m from lighting fixtures and 0.5 m from the wall.

• A flashing red LED signal located on the body of the AFAS indicates its operability and that it is in standby mode.

• In case of fire (smoke), the AFAS emits an intermittent sound signal with a constant illumination of the red LED.

• In case of smoke in the premises, the homeowner must eliminate its source. To stop the sound signal from the AFAS, the room should be ventilated.

In case of fire: immediately report the fire by calling 101 (you must provide your surname, address, and the location of the fire, as well as information about the presence of people in the house).

It is prohibited:

1. To disassemble the AFAS independently.

2. To connect it to a 220 V power source.

3. To paint, whitewash, or cover the AFAS with wallpaper.

4. To remove the AFAS without permission from local fire safety authorities, except for replacing power supply elements.
