The holidays continue!
It is January on the calendar, which means that Christmas and the Old New Year are just around the corner! And what kind of holiday can there be without special effects caused by pyrotechnic products? Fortunately, today anyone can independently purchase fireworks. However, sometimes excessive self-confidence and ignorance of the rules for using pyrotechnic products lead not to the festive table, but to a hospital bed. Moreover, due to violations of the rules for using pyrotechnics or the use of low-quality products, many fires occur.
In order for your holidays to be not only fun but also safe, it is necessary to know and follow these rules:
1) Before using pyrotechnics, it is necessary to carefully study the instructions and strictly follow them;
2) The manufacturer's operating instructions must contain:
- restrictions on the conditions of use of the product;
- methods of safe launch;
- dimensions of the danger zone;
- storage conditions, shelf life, and disposal methods.
3) Do not use products with an expired shelf life, signs of damage, without operating instructions and a certificate of conformity;
4) It is prohibited to use pyrotechnic products:
- indoors, in buildings, structures, as well as on roofs, balconies, and loggias;
- in the territories of explosive and fire hazardous facilities, near power lines;
- on stage platforms during concerts and ceremonial events;
- in the territories of cultural heritage sites, nature reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, and national parks.
As for the direct launch of firecrackers and fireworks:
1) Before lighting the fuse, you must know exactly where the top of the product is and from where the burning elements will fly out. You must not even jokingly point fireworks towards the audience.
2) The launch site must be level, and there should be no trees, power lines, or other obstacles above it. In addition, it must be located at least 50 meters away from residential buildings. Rockets often fly onto balconies or, breaking window glass, into apartments, causing fires. Furthermore, fireworks can hit people.
3) Do not throw burning firecrackers at people and animals!
4) It is prohibited for children to launch firecrackers!
5) Do not hold a burning firecracker in your hands!
6) Do not place a firecracker in a confined space: a can, bucket, or bottle!
7) Use firecrackers only outdoors!
8) Do not approach a burning firecracker closer than 5-10 meters!
9) Firecrackers should only be stored and transported in their packaging! Do not carry firecrackers in your pockets or bags!
10) Disassembling a firecracker is prohibited!
11) It is categorically prohibited to burn fireworks on bonfires.
13) Under no circumstances lean over the pyrotechnics.
14) If a firecracker does not work, do not attempt to check or relight the fuse.
15) Do not launch rockets in courtyard wells, in apartments, near houses, and in small enclosed areas. Remember that the launch sites for each specific product must be indicated in the instructions.
16) Do not hold the product in your hands after lighting it. Throw it away from you at a distance of 5-6 meters or, after the fuse has been lit, place it on the ground and quickly move away to a distance of 5-6 meters from the product!
17) Fireworks are destroyed by placing them in water for up to two days. After that, they can be disposed of with household waste.
