Warning about accidents involving children
The issue of preventing accidents involving children is under constant control in the prosecutor's office of the Braslav district.
In June of this year, the prosecutor's office, with the involvement of competent authorities, conducted a selective inspection of potentially dangerous facilities in the Braslav district. As a result, it was established that the economic entities of the district, local authorities, and management often approach the implementation of the requirements of the Directive of the President of the Republic of Belarus dated 11.03.2004 No. 1 "On Measures to Strengthen Public Safety and Discipline" in a formal manner.
For instance, the grain drying complex building in the village of Rubezh (owner – OJSC "Slobodka-agro") is considered unsafe. This structure has free access, its internal premises are filled with garbage, broken glass, and remnants of construction materials, and there are unsafe depressions. Residential houses are located near this structure.
Unsafe are also the unused buildings of the former Druy brick factory base in the village of Druysk (owner – OJSC "Druyski") and the former dormitory in the village of Druysk (owner – OJSC "Druyski").
As a result of the inspection, it was also established that the resolution on emergency situations of the Braslav district executive committee dated 25.07.2016 No. 5/2016 developed and approved a list of potentially dangerous facilities located in the Braslav district.
At the same time, this list is incomplete and contains information about facilities that are currently either absent or have been brought to a safe condition.
This year, the condition of children's playgrounds and attractions with inflatable equipment was also analyzed for safety.
As a result of the analysis, violations of safety requirements were identified at the children's playground of the State Educational Institution "Druysk Children's Home" (currently, the violations have been eliminated).
It was also established that there is an inflatable attraction functioning at the city beach near Lake Drivyaty in the city of Braslav, owned by the Braslav district consumer cooperative.
Based on the inspection of this attraction, together with the employees of the Braslav District Emergency Situations Department, violations of the requirements of the Technical Safety Rules "Requirements for the Operation of Inflatable Play Equipment" (hereinafter referred to as the Rules), approved by the resolution of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus dated 30.07.2015 No. 35, were identified. Currently, the operation of the attraction has been suspended until the identified violations are eliminated.
The prosecutor's office of the Braslav district has taken prosecutorial response measures in connection with the identified violations of legislation.
