Children's mischief with fire often leads to very sad consequences. Due to their limited life experience and great curiosity, young children find themselves in dangerous situations.

And, as a rule, behind every wrong action of children are the wrong actions of us, adults. Children, like sponges, absorb all the information from the surrounding world. If a mother throws a burning match into the trash can after lighting the gas stove, her child will do the same next time. If a father allows himself to smoke in the presence of children, the latter will also inevitably find time and opportunity to try smoking.

According to rescuers, a charger left plugged in by adults in one of the capital's apartments at the beginning of last year caused a fire. As a result, a six-year-old girl sustained serious injuries and later died in the hospital. The Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the girl was alone in the apartment at the time of the fire.

The trauma and death of children cannot be conveyed in words. The grief for relatives and loved ones, parents cannot be measured by anything. However, we, adults, sometimes not realizing this or simply hoping that "it will be fine," continue to leave children alone at home, do not follow safety rules ourselves, and sometimes do not even think about how important it is to talk to children about behavior rules.

Rescuers have long developed numerous methodological and educational materials that can be used to teach safety behavior rules, and do so not in a moralizing way, but in a playful manner. These include animated series from the Ministry of Emergency Situations ("The Magic Book of the Ministry of Emergency Situations," and recently a new cartoon "Special Unit 112"), and the mobile application "Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus. Help Nearby," as well as visual and illustrative products (coloring books, brochures, board games, etc.) that can be found on the official website of the ministry and downloaded completely free of charge. As the saying goes, those who want to find a way, and those who do not want find excuses.

Dear parents, teach your children safety behavior rules from an early age. Explain what to do in case of an emergency, where to run and where to seek refuge. Remember and learn together with your children the emergency service numbers, explain which service to call and in what situation, while reminding them of the inadmissibility of false calls. This knowledge may become the lifebuoy for your child that will save their life.
