From the courtroom. The cost of a phone as a criminal penalty

By the verdict of the Braslav District Court, a resident of the Miory District was convicted under part 1 of Article 206 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus.

On one occasion, a resident of the Miory District, having arrived in the city of Braslav for recreation, committed an open theft of property from an elderly helpless person. The young man, being in a state of alcohol intoxication, snatched a mobile phone worth 9.69 rubles from the pocket of the elderly helpless person.

The elderly man immediately reported the incident to the police, which prevented the Miory resident from escaping and led to his apprehension with the stolen mobile phone.

The Braslav District Court found the man guilty of committing the crime provided for in part 1 of Article 206, and sentenced him to three months of arrest, as well as applying compulsory safety measures and treatment for chronic alcoholism.
