Illegal trafficking of narcotic substances is punishable!

The illegal trafficking of narcotic substances contributes to the spread of drug addiction as a socially dangerous phenomenon, leading to harmful consequences for the health of citizens and influencing the increase in crime.

The prosecutor's office of the district supported the state prosecution in the court of the Braslav district in a criminal case against M. for committing a crime under part 1 of article 328 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, involving the illegal acquisition and storage of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances without the purpose of sale.

During the court investigation, it was established that on one of the days in July of this year, M. ordered a psychotropic substance from an online store using a mobile phone. After receiving information about the location of the "goods" at the agreed place, he illegally acquired 4.95 grams of the psychotropic substance "mefedrone" without the purpose of sale.

In the court session, M. fully admitted his guilt in the illegal acquisition and storage of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances without the purpose of sale. In conjunction with the conclusions of expert examinations, protocols of operational-search activities, investigative actions, physical evidence, and other written materials of the case, thoroughly examined during the court investigation, M.'s guilt in committing the illegal acquisition and storage of particularly dangerous psychotropic substances without the purpose of sale was proven in full.

Taking into account the position of the state prosecution, the court found M. guilty of committing a crime under part 1 of article 328 of the Criminal Code and sentenced him to 3 years of imprisonment with a conditional non-application of the sentence for a period of 2 years. He was also ordered to perform community service for 80 hours and to pay a criminal law compensation of 80 basic units.

The court's verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
