Fire safety issues are under control

The Prosecutor's Office of the Braslaŭ District conducted an inspection of the causes and conditions contributing to the occurrence of fires in the district. Thus, during the past period of 2024, there were 36 fires in the Braslaŭ District, resulting in 4 fatalities and 1 injury. In the 12 months of 2023, there were 33 fires, with 5 fatalities.

On 13.12.2024, the senior assistant to the prosecutor of the Braslaŭ District conducted a raid in cooperation with an inspector from the Braslaŭ Emergency Situations Department, during which selected households were visited where significant violations of the Fire Safety Rules for residential buildings, structures, and facilities located on the adjacent territory, garden houses, utility buildings and structures located on the land plot provided for collective gardening, summer houses, utility buildings and structures located on the land plot provided for summer construction, approved by the Ministry of Emergency Situations Resolution No. 13 of 25.03.2020 (hereinafter - FSR), were previously identified, and instructions were given for their elimination.

During the raid, it was established that the previously identified violations of the FSR had not been eliminated within the established timeframe. At the time of visiting the households, the following violations were identified: cracks in the body of the heating and cooking stove (clause 38 - FSR), a section of the floor made of combustible materials in front of the furnace opening of the heating and cooking stove, protected with non-combustible material not in accordance with the requirements, namely, with a width of at least 0.5 meters and a length of at least 0.7 meters (clause 33 - FSR), the chimney in the attic space is not plastered and not whitewashed (clause 38 - FSR), there is no locking device on the ash door of the stove (clause 32 - FSR), the chimney head has cracks (clause 38 - FSR).

Thus, the aforementioned citizens violated the rules for the operation of stove heating, which indicates the presence of an administrative offense as provided for in part 4 of article 24.36 of the Code of Administrative Offenses.

The Prosecutor's Office of the district has instructed to initiate administrative proceedings against the specified individuals in the Braslaŭ Emergency Situations Department.
