Prosecutor's Office of Braslaŭ District: Off-site court sessions as a means of preventing theft of entrusted property

Prosecutor's Office News At the initiative of the prosecutor's office of Braslav District, with the invitation of employees of agricultural organizations in the district, a field court session was held in the premises of the Akhremovetskiy Rural Executive Committee to consider a criminal case against a 45-year-old local resident working as a tractor driver-machine operator in one of the agricultural organizations of the district. The man is accused of embezzling property entrusted to him.

It was established that the accused, while working as a tractor driver-machine operator and being a materially responsible person, embezzled 300 liters of diesel fuel worth 714 rubles by siphoning it from the fuel tank of the tractor "Belarus – 82" during agricultural work from April to November 2025.

At the court session, the accused fully admitted his guilt, expressed remorse for his actions, and compensated for the damage.

Taking into account the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the court of Braslav District issued a guilty verdict. Based on part 1 of Article 211 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus, a sentence of imprisonment for 1 year and 6 months was imposed without a fine and without deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities. The court applied the provisions of part 1 of Article 77 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus and decided to defer the execution of the imposed sentence of imprisonment for 1 year.

After the court session, the state prosecutor addressed the present employees of agricultural enterprises in the district and explained the legal consequences of committing unlawful acts related to the embezzlement of entrusted property.
