A republican campaign "Don't Burn Your Life" took place in the Braslaŭ District.
Presenting statistics on fires in the region and the district, rescuers emphasized that the main cause of fires is careless handling of fire while smoking, often in an intoxicated state, citing examples of recent tragedies.
During the demonstration of the film "Victims of Bad Habits", agency employees informed all attendees about the inadmissibility of littering with unextinguished cigarette butts, as any such case theoretically represents a potential fire.
The head of the Braslav District Department for Emergency Situations, Sergey Krivko, speaking to the employees of the local bread factory, reminded them of the necessity to maintain existing heating appliances in good working order. Great attention was also paid to the presence of autonomous fire alarms in homes.
Subsequently, agency employees followed the routes of mobile shops, organizing "Safety Posts". Speaking to the villagers, rescuers reminded customers of the basic safety rules, citing tragic cases in the district and region, the cause of which was careless handling of fire while smoking. All attendees were also invited to recall the emergency service numbers as a quiz, and all smokers agreed to exchange a cigarette for a candy.
In total, as part of the campaign, Braslav rescuers conducted more than ten events, reminding all present citizens that smoking is not only a harmful habit for health but also a cause of quite tragic consequences.
