In search of fishing enthusiasts

Despite the weather conditions, winter fishing enthusiasts are venturing out onto the ice to try their luck, putting their lives at risk. This time, the Ministry of Emergency Situations employees inspected the water bodies in the Braslav district.

The ice has already begun to melt, but fishermen, equipped with tackle, augers, and enthusiasm, are drilling holes in the loose ice cover. To inform the public about the dangers of venturing onto thin ice, rescuers conducted another patrol.

“Ice on water bodies is one of the main sources of danger. Its apparent durability can be deceptive, especially in such unpredictable weather. However, ice fishing enthusiasts, despite everything, still head out to the water bodies for a catch, forgetting about safety measures. Fortunately, there were not many of them today, and we reminded them once again to follow basic rules,” – the rescuers noted.

The patrol activities in the district's water area will continue.
