On the basis of the State Educational Institution "Vidzovsky State Vocational and Technical College" on 24.09.2020, with the participation of the Deputy Prosecutor of the Braslav District, a round table was held, the topic of which was the prevention of unlawful behavior of minors and the consequences of committing crimes and offenses.


The provisions of the Code of Administrative Offenses and the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus regarding the responsibility of persons under eighteen years of age for committing crimes and offenses, as well as possible penalties and sanctions for various unlawful acts, were communicated to the college students.


The legal consequences of committing crimes by individuals who have not reached the established age of criminal responsibility were also explained. Attention was drawn to the fact that for a child who commits a crime, there may be other serious consequences in the form of state coercion and control, such as placement in a special educational institution or a medical and educational institution; expulsion from the educational institution; registration with the juvenile affairs inspectorate; recognition of the minor as being in a socially dangerous situation; recognition of the adolescent as needing state protection with the immediate removal of the child from the family and placement in a shelter; deprivation of parental rights; and bringing parents to administrative responsibility for improper performance of parental duties, among others.


A separate topic of the speech was the responsibility of minors for committing crimes related to the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances. Students were made aware of the negative consequences of using prohibited substances, the degree of their impact on health and future prospects, including career. Provisions of the Criminal Code regulating responsibility for committing such crimes were presented.
