«Direct telephone lines» with citizens and representatives of legal entities are held by the chairperson of the rural executive committee every Saturday from 9:00 to 12:00 at the phone number 8 029 5999518.

The Vidzy Rural Council is located in the southwestern part of the district. The area of the rural council is – 45 165.59 ha, the length of the border is – 222.72 km. To the north, it borders the Mezhan Rural Council, to the northeast – the Opsa and Dalek Rural Councils, from the east the border of the rural council runs along the line of the administrative border of the Braslav District with the Sharkovshchina District, from the south - partially borders the Postavy District – along the rivers Dvina and Berweta, further the southern border runs along the Dvina River and borders the Republic of Lithuania. On the western side, the border of the rural council coincides with the state border of the Republic of Belarus with the Republic of Lithuania.
There are 111 settlements in the territory of the rural council. The center of the rural council is the town of Vidzy with a population as of 01.01.2023 of 1345 people. It is the second largest settlement in the Braslav District. The town is located in the flat territory of the Disna lowland between the lakes Vidzy, Maruga, Lipolaty. The settlement is unique in that it has a rich historical heritage. It has been known since the 15th century.
