The state protection of consumer rights and control over compliance with consumer rights protection legislation in the territory of the Braslav District is carried out by the authorized representative for consumer rights protection of the Braslav District Executive Committee, who:
considers applications, appeals, and complaints from consumers in accordance with the legislation;
organizes explanations of legislation on consumer rights protection issues;
upon detecting goods (works, services) of inadequate quality, as well as those dangerous to the life, health, property of consumers and the environment, immediately notifies the republican state administration bodies (their territorial bodies) that exercise control over the quality and safety of goods (works, services);
in cases of detecting the sale of goods (performance of works, provision of services) without providing necessary and reliable information, or with an expired shelf life, or without a shelf life when establishing this term is mandatory, sends orders to manufacturers (performers, sellers) to suspend the production and sale of goods (performance of works, provision of services) until the identified violations are rectified or to cease the sale of goods (performance of works, provision of services);
appeals to the court with a claim for the protection of consumer rights;
performs other functions for consumer rights protection as provided by law.
