DESERVED PUNISHMENT
The Prosecutor's Office of the district supported the state prosecution in the court of Braslav district in the criminal case against a resident of Braslav district, X., accused of committing crimes under part 2 of article 154 of the Criminal Code (systematic infliction of bodily harm, not resulting in consequences provided for by articles 147 and 149 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (torture), committed against a knowingly underage person who was in a dependent position) and article 186 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Belarus (threat of murder, if there were grounds to fear its implementation).
The criminal prosecution authority accused X. of systematically inflicting bodily harm on his stepson, knowingly underage M., born in 2003, who was in a dependent position, during the period from December 2019 to June 2020, while being in a state of alcohol intoxication at his place of residence, on the grounds of personal animosity.
X. was also found guilty of threatening his knowingly minor son, born in 2007, who was in a dependent position, with murder on one of the days in June of this year, while being in a state of alcohol intoxication at his place of residence, on the grounds of personal animosity, by taking specific actions that confirmed the real danger of carrying out the threat.
Considering the evidence presented by the state prosecutor, the court found X. guilty of the crimes charged against him and, based on the totality of the crimes, imposed a final sentence of imprisonment for a term of 2 years to be served in a correctional colony under general regime conditions.
In determining the sentence, the court took into account that X. had previously committed a similar crime against his wife, the mother of the minors in this criminal case, for which he was convicted, and that in the current year X. had been repeatedly held administratively liable for committing offenses while in a state of alcohol intoxication, the victims of which were members of his family.
The verdict has not entered into legal force.
