Lukashenko holds up Agrokombinat Yubileiny chief as an example to others

MINSK, 11 November (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko presented awards to the best farmers at the Dazhynki festival in Polotsk. Among them was Aleksandr Firsin, the head of Agrokombinat Yubileiny The ONT TV channel ran a story about Aleksandr Firsin and the enterprise which the Belarusian president holds up as an example to other farms in Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA reports.

Who is Aleksandr Firsin who received an award from Lukashenko?

The president presented the Order of Labor Glory to director of Agrokombinat Yubileiny Aleksandr Firsin. Journalists know him well. In February 2018, the company launched the construction of the largest dairy complex in Orsha District.

Then Aleksandr Firsin said important words for the region: "Today milk is business. This is real fast daily money." 


What idea did Firsin propose for Vitebsk Oblast?

The head of Agrokombinat Yubileiny voiced the things that many farmers of Vitebsk Oblast complained about. The profitability of grain production in this region will never be as high as in the south of the country. It was necessary to revise the strategy and focus on meat and milk.

Briefly speaking, this is a change in the structure of subordination of the enterprises. The largest milk and meat processors take over collective farms in the surrounding areas and set specific production targets for them.

Why does Lukashenko hold up Yubileiny as an example?

In 2022, during his visit to Agrokombinat Yubileiny, the president praised the agricultural enterprise for its good work: "Well done!You are doing a good job. In a way, you are an example for Vitebsk Oblast and in terms of certain issues for the whole country. You are an example of good governance, The crops are fine, there are almost no remarks."
